Denali Dental is a state-of-the-art dental facility!

One thing that really sets us apart from many other Davis County dentists is that we utilize the most up-to-date equipment and technology in the dental field. Dr. Dan Jensen and our team strive to help you maintain and improve your oral health with the use of advanced dental technology in Kaysville, Utah. In order to do that, we have invested in multiple tools/instruments to make sure that we can diagnose problems in your mouth at the earliest stage possible. Early detection allows us to be more conservative by saving more of your natural tooth structure, helping us to achieve our goal of minimally invasive dentistry. This means any procedures necessary to restore any problem areas are much easier on you, your tooth, and your pocketbook.

Untitled-8Among the newer technologies is a small laser instrument called the DIAGNOdent®. With this instrument, we can scan your teeth with harmless laser light, using a light energy (not xray), searching for decay that is not visible to the naked eye. It is painless and non-invasive.

One of the major goals of modern dentistry is to locate hidden decay before it destroys tooth structure from the inside out. You might wonder how decay can start inside a tooth. The fact of the matter is that it doesn’t start inside the tooth, but with the widespread use of fluoride (in supplements, toothpaste, drinking water, etc.), the decay process can start through microscopic defects in the hard surface (enamel layer) and spread beneath the enamel layer into the softer layer of tooth (dentin layer). The hard surface can then remineralize, due to fluoride use, over the defect, thus sealing the decay in the softer layer.

DIAGNOdent is a unique instrument provides instant feedback as you glide the probe over each tooth surface. A number scale and an alarm signals when there are signs of hidden decay. This new technology is completely safe and more importantly, PAIN FREE! It allows us to monitor the areas below the hard surface and locate hidden decay in the earliest stage possible.

Intraoral Camera
Our new SOPROLIFE® (Light Induced Fluorescence Evaluator) camera is THE GREATEST breakthrough in dental technology. This camera really helps us stick to our belief in minimally invasive dentistry because it allows us to preserve as much tooth structure as possible through early detection. We can keep restorations in your mouth conservative and often times don’t even have to get you numb! Intraoral cameras have revolutionized the entire patient education process by allowing our patients to see exactly what the dentist is seeing. With the aid of this camera, we will take you on a virtual tour of your mouth by displaying images of your teeth on our chairside monitors.

Fluorescence technology is used to find and detect cavities sooner than with other techniques and devices. The SOPROLIFE camera emits a fluorescent light onto your tooth, where it provides a feedback color to determine if the tooth is healthy or diseased. This color change allows for an easy, visual diagnosis. The sooner a cavity is found, the less damage your tooth will endure, and the smaller the restoration.

Digital X-Rays
Our dentist uses digital X-rays to help detect and diagnose any potential oral problems. Digital radiography is the latest dental X-ray technology. Unlike traditional X-rays, digital X-rays can be viewed instantly so that we are able to detect abnormalities much faster than ever before. In addition, digital X-rays are safer than their traditional counterpart because they emit up to 90% less radiation. If you are interested in learning more about digital X-rays or dental technology, call us to schedule with our dentist in Kaysville, UT. We will be happy to answer your questions.
